About Me and Why

I’m Tiffany, and I do many things.

As of late, I'm most interested in sharing how I'm navigating millennial working mom life while also having an obsession with learning and raising my child to be creative and smart and capable... I have a strong desire to provide a magical, screen-free, music-filled, enriching life for Wolfie inspired by Montessori and all the beautiful things. And some days I believe maybe he needs absolutely nothing, because what did they do 400 years ago? .... :) Anyway.

โ€‹

I started my career as a classical clarinetist and professor after getting a doctorate in music, moved into content creation and consulting along the way, and then found myself in marketing in the performing arts.

At one point, I co-directed a digital education platform. And I miss sharing. And, I still do think there are some really interesting things about the internet. Helpful things.

โ€‹

Although, sometimes I also think I should dissolve my interest in all things internet. (Why does it feel like more than ever things are so binary??)

Then I remember how much social media and the internet have helped me. How many things I've learned from people. How many things truly HAVE helped me with my baby, or made me feel less alone. Real people sharing real stuff. It works. Probably why most of us haven't thrown in the towel.

โ€‹

Yes, there's craziness. But there's craziness everywhere. And if you can see the good and be the good, well, I think we're good.

โ€‹

There's a lot of mom content out there. Working moms. Moms interested in Montessori. Screen free declarations. Millennials just trying to do it right and the pendulum is swinging so far in either direction it's crazy to see it. Homeschool perfection. Toy rotations galore. Don't forget those wooden rainbows!!! ๐ŸŒˆโ€‹

โ€‹

There's a lot of NO and DO NOT do this. โ€‹

There's a lot of "This will make your child amazing at learning and reading." โ€‹

There are a lot of Amazon lists and toy reccommendations.

โ€‹

I've found parts of all of that incredibly helpful depending on the situation.

โ€‹

Here, I hope to hype you up, give you some ideas that are working for us - or absolutely not working - and share the experience I'm having thus far in motherhood:

it is a big lesson in letting go and holding onto the things that I truly think matter most. Some days are easier than others. The highs are high. The lows are low. And I've never had to tell myself so many damn times to stay present and let. it. go.

โ€‹

But I also want to share how my background in music, teaching, learning, creativity, and general giver of enthusiasm is impacting my journey as a mother.

โ€‹

I hope sharing helps us all along the way. โ™ก
